3 TIPS FOR GETTING WELLNESS FOR THE WHOLE FAM THESE WINTER HOLIDAYS!

No, we are not nutritionists but we are mums and have plenty of experience with picky eaters. These are the ways that we try to get alllll the good stuff into our little people.  These school holidays we want to focus on fuelling our families and educating our children. From one mum to another, we got you.

Smoothies 
Did you know that only half of Australians are getting their recommended amount of fruit servings? Hidden fruit and veggies in smoothies/juices. Find a juice that they love the taste of by itself. Then gradually incorporate more veggies into it. We think Oh My Greens (Spinach, Broccoli, Celery, Apple, Pineapple, Parsley) and then add a banana, extra spinach or zucchini over time. Getting their daily fruit and veggies in one delicious drink!! Sip, sip hooray!! 

Get them a super cute smoothie cup that will get them excited about drinking all that goodness!

For our little people just starting out on food, the World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends 2 veg & 1 fruit serving per day. For our bigger, growing kids it is recommended 5 veg & 2 fruit.

Snack plates
Snack plates FTW! Who doesn't love a charcuterie board? We believe that by chopping up an array of seasonal fruit and veg, dips and crackers (sometimes whatever you can find in the fridge. The fresher the produce = the happier everyone will be. The best part is to get them involved, teach the kids about what they are about to eat because they are more likely to eat it! Then sit down with them and nibble together. It’s a win, win situation!!

Our delicious almond mylks contain locally grown Riverland almonds to give you the freshest, purest plant-based mylk. If your little one isn’t eating much it’s the simple way to ensure they are filling their little bellies. Our Vanilla, Dates and Nuts and Holy Cacao are both high in protein, calcium and magnesium.
