A beautiful Q&A with Sue from Collective Soul Centre
In today’s fast-paced world, many of us are craving deeper connection, to ourselves, to nature and to each other. Sacred cacao ceremonies are a gentle yet powerful way to slow down, open the heart and reconnect in a nurturing space.
We recently spoke with Sue from Collective Soul Centre to learn more about her Sacred Cacao Ceremony & Ritual Experiences and what makes them so special.
Here’s what she shared.
✨ A Ceremony Created with Intention
Sue facilitates two Sacred Cacao Ceremonies each month at Collective Soul Centre - one on a Friday evening from 6:30pm–8:30pm and another on Saturday morning from 10am–12pm.
Each ceremony is completely unique.
“The taste of the cacao is different every time because it’s created intuitively and with intention for each attendee,” Sue explains.
Before each ceremony, Sue mindfully prepares the cacao in her kitchen by cleansing the space with palo santo, lighting a candle and playing music specially chosen for the experience. As she adds the ingredients, she stirs the blend with a molinillo, a traditional Mexican hand-carved wooden whisk, allowing intention and energy to flow into every cup.
The ceremonial space itself is intentionally prepared the day before.
The experience begins with a sharing circle, inviting connection between everyone present - a chance to be seen, heard and to share personal intentions if they wish.
Sue then guides the group through a meditation to relax the body, quiet the mind and open the heart to receive the healing properties of cacao.
Participants gently sip the warm cacao, feeling its smoothness, warmth and energy move through their bodies.
Once the ceremonial cup is complete, everyone lies down on yoga mats with blankets and cushions to receive hands-on healing and sound therapy. The vibrations of instruments wash over the body, creating harmony, balance and deep peace in body, mind and soul.
The ceremony closes with optional sharing and the drawing of an oracle card, offering a message uniquely meant for each person.
đź’› The Intention Behind Cacao Rituals
So what’s the deeper purpose of cacao ceremonies?
According to Sue, it’s a beautiful blend of connection, healing, reflection and relaxation.
“The main intention is to reconnect in sacred circle like our ancestors did - feeling the connection between Mother Earth and ourselves, as well as the connection with others.”
It’s also about allowing yourself to receive healing, slowing down, reflecting without judgement and coming back home to your authentic heart - feeling loved, joyful and supported.

🌱 No Experience Needed - Just an Open Heart
One of the most beautiful things about cacao ceremonies is that no prior experience with meditation, breathwork or mindfulness is needed.
“It’s a space where all are welcomed,” Sue says. “There’s no right or wrong way to experience it, and it can change every time depending on what your needs are in that moment.”
Whether it’s your first ceremony or your tenth, each experience meets you exactly where you are.

✨ Beautiful Transformations Through Cacao
When asked about the most meaningful transformations she’s witnessed, Sue shared something incredibly touching:
“A full realisation that they are loved just the way they are - and they don’t need to be what anyone else wants them to be. They’re free to just be themselves.”
Many regular attendees experience this profound sense of self-love and acceptance, with the ceremonies becoming deeper as trust and openness grow.
🌸 A Gentle Invitation Back to Yourself
Sacred cacao ceremonies offer more than just relaxation, they’re an invitation to reconnect, heal and nourish the heart in a supportive community.
If you’re seeking a beautiful way to slow down, open your heart and experience deep connection, Sue’s Sacred Cacao Ceremony & Ritual Experiences at Collective Soul Centre are truly something special.
