5 Ingredient Protein Balls

I am sure you have all heard of protein balls. Those little balls that pack a punch in the nutrition department, containing a perfect balance of protein, carbohydrates, healthy fats and of course, antioxidants. They are the perfect snack for some pre-workout energy, for the busy worker or simply as a nutritious option between meals to keep you nourished and satisfied.

Although delicious, store bought protein balls can often hurt your wallet, so why not make them yourself? With these three simple recipes containing five ingredients or less, we have made it super simple for you to create and enjoy these healthy snacks!

    Snickers Protein Balls (makes 12)

    Ingredients
    1⁄2 cup crushed peanuts (plus extra for rolling)
    5 tbsp 100% smooth peanut butter
    3 tbsp maple syrup
    3 tbsp cacao powder
    pinch of Himalayan salt

    Method
    Blend all ingredients together in a food processor until well combined. Roll a heaped tbsp of
    mixture into balls and roll through crushed peanuts and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

    Salted caramel protein balls (makes 12)

    Ingredients
    10 medjool dates (soaked)
    1 cup raw almonds
    1⁄2 cup desiccated coconut (plus extra for rolling)
    1⁄4 tsp Himalayan salt

    Method
    Blend all ingredients together in a food processor until well combined. Roll a heaped tbsp of
    mixture into balls and roll through desiccated coconut and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

    Raspberry Bliss Balls (Makes 12)

    Ingredients
    1/2 cup of raspberries (frozen)
    1 cup shredded coconut
    5 medjool dates
    1/2 cup raw cashews
    1/2 tsp vanilla extract

    Method
    Blend all ingredients together in a food processor until well combined. Roll mixture into ball
    shapes. Roll balls in desiccated coconut and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
