Aaahh Los Angeles, the city of sunshine, beaches, beautiful people and Hollywood! In a city that values health and wellness it’s no surprise that cold pressed juice bars can be found in abundance. And if you’ve been watching our Instagram stories (@juiceinstitute), you’ll know that we were lucky enough to spend a week in the sunshine recently. There are so many exciting things happening in the LA juice scene at the moment - we were both inspired and amazed at the creative flavour combinations and high-quality fresh ingredients used. Aloe shots anyone?
There are so many places to visit, here’s a list of our favourite spots to rehydrate:
SunLife Organics Founded by Khalil Rafati and Hayley Gorcey in Malibu in 2011. Their aim is to love, heal and inspire. They have an amazing variety of superfood shakes, smoothie bowls and fresh juices. Khalil’s life story is particularly interesting, and we recommend reading about how juicing and superfoods have transformed his life!
Beverly Hills Juice Juicing since 1975! This old-school shop sells fresh alkalizing blends and incredible shots including ingredients such as turmeric and E3 Live.
Moon Juice Created by a chef who saw the power of raw foods to heal. They advocate a holistic lifestyle, and have a whole suite of products that complement their juices, milks and snacks - including skincare and supplements.
Pressed Juicery Delicious cold pressed juice blends, cleanses, shots and waters (hello Aloe Vera H20!). They also have gummy bears made from their cold pressed juice – great for kids!
Main Squeeze Situated in Santa Monica, this juice bar serves organic juices, shots and smoothies. On a hot LA day, we loved the ‘Summertime Green’ to rehydrate, think kale, apple, pear, celery, cucumber, lime and mint… yum!
Erewhon Is an incredible family owned organic grocer and café… we loved this place! With 100% organic produce in the aisles and everything in their café made from scratch, we were impressed by their range of juices, milks, shots, soups, and broths - there was even a vegan broth available!
We were so inspired by all the juice stores we visited! We noticed so many healing ingredients being used including alkaline water, E3L Live, cayenne pepper, chlorophyll and collagen. And we loved the boosting power shots which were great for immunity, health, energy, cold and flu, regeneration and repair.
