THE DO’S + DO NOT’S OF JUICE CLEANSING

Thinking of doing a juice cleanse? Hello improved hydration / nutrition /energy and mental clarity! Just make sure to read our handy guide to the do’s and do not’s of juice cleansing before embarking on one of our delicious cleanses!

DO’S 

DO know what you’re in for. Research about what to expect on a juice cleanse. Some common side effects can include headaches, fatigue, brain fog, irritability, and extreme cravings. But all for the greater good, right?

DO clear the calendar. Make sure you embark on your juice cleanse journey with little to no plans. So, no galivanting around Adelaide! You ideally want to be at Rancho Relaxo without the stresses of plans or appointments.

DO clear the cupboards! Make sure your cupboards, fridge and desk drawers are free of sugary and processed foods. Kit Kats and salt and vinegar chips have a knack of talking to you until you cave!

DO get a juice cleanse partner on board. Cleansing with a friend is double the fun! Having the support from a friend or family member makes it so much easier (and much less chance of your partner coming home with a bag of hot chips and caving half-way through the cleanse! #truestory)

DO stay hydrated! Yes the sweet, sweet juice will keep you hydrated BUT remember to drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water or herbal teas daily, to dilute and eliminate toxic accumulation. We’ll cheers to that!

DO consult your doctor before beginning any cleanse program. Especially if you have any pre-existing health conditions or are pregnant/nursing.

DONT’S

DON’T do any high impact exercise. Swap your HIIT or F45 class for a nice ol’ stroll or yoga class, instead.

DON’T ignore hunger pains. Make sure you munch on any fruit and veg (the good stuff!) if you’re hungry or lightheaded.

DON’T skimp on Z’sss. Make sure you hit the hay early and take naps if  possible. Deep healing occurs during rest and relaxation.

DON’T end your cleanse abruptly. Transition gently and start by eating lighter foods like soups and veggies before hitting up – gulp – er, McDonalds? (!).

DON’T forget to have fun! Doing a juice cleanse is so amazing for your body. Expect improved hydration. Improved nutrition. Feeling refreshed and energised. Improved mental clarity and reduced bloat / food cravings!
